We have had the bobsweep pethair for over a year and have been absolutely pleased with its performance. I am a stay home mom who also gives cooking classes in my kitchen to friends and neighbors a few times a week. With 3 kids and 2 dogs and constant cooking, Bob had more than enough to eat on a daily basis. Bob needed a few preliminary furniture adjustments because our floor plan is rather convoluted and we have lots of random shaped furniture. One area that Bob would get stuck for example was under the coffee table that we have between our couch and loveseat. Bob would go under the coffee table and would try coming out of the sides but there was not enough space for it to completely exit. He would sometimes come back out from the same way he went in, but most often it couldn’t cause the base of the table was shaped rather rough from the inside. We had to move the table closer to the couch so it blocks one side of it and this left enough space for Bob to exit from the other side. We also had an ikea area rug in front of the TV area that we had to switch with the one in the master bedroom, since Bob would work mainly in the living/dining room and would throw an error code after a minute of working on the rug. After researching it a bit I realized that its main brush cannot rotate well on soft, thicker carpets. I use Bob in the bedrooms much less frequently and when I do, I just fold the plush carpet or put it aside until Bob is done. Bob has no problem with all the other 4 area rugs that we have, although one of them is quite thick. The floors are mainly hardwood otherwise.
Bob has been working almost everyday in the living room because we have 2 dogs who live there and would leave a thick layer of hair on the floors before we adopted Bob. Bob has been saving us at least 20 minutes of vacuuming everyday. My friends are all impressed and I have been recommending it to all of them and so far 2 of them have gotten their own Bob and are quite happy with it!
so I got BOb sweep in the mail yesterday so far it works gggggggggrrrrrrreeeeeaaaaattttttt!!!!!!!!!! It can do pick up any thing buy this!
so cant wait until my bobsweep pethair comes in the mail. I saw this ad on gropon for 229$ ( about) on the bobsweep web site it was 670$ cant wait
Bobi has been cleaning our houe in the past 3 days and I couldn’t be happier with the results! What a great invention, I think every house will soon have a robot to clean for them :~))
I had a Roomba. It worked perfectly, always. I moved cities and gave my Roomba to a friend, thinking I’d buy a new one when I got here. I saw an ad for Bobsweep, which alleged to have all the same features as my Roomba had, was cheaper and had the extra “mopping” feature. I swallowed the false advertising and bought Bobsweep.
I was seriously disappointed from the first day and every day after.
Bobsweep does not do anything as well as the Roomba did.
Most importantly, Bobsweep will not even vacuum my floors consistently or completely. They are brown concrete floors, less than 600 square feet. For 1.5 years It has stopped every time somewhere randomly, for no apparent reason sometimes.
Other failings of Bobsweep:
- it gets stuck in any area that is too small for it to turn around—I have about a foot between my bed and the wall, bob goes down it, and refuses to come out, and just shuts down every time; I have to put things in the way so it won’t go down there
- it runs out of battery fails to go to its dock every single time
- it misses whole parts of rooms all the time—just doesn’t go into them
- the “mop” is a joke—IT DOES NOT MOP AT ALL. You have to wet a pad, which stays wet for a minute, and drags a random pattern on the floor, then dries out and it’s over.
- it seems to be broken after a year and a half now, giving me an Error 4 every minute of so (manual says sensors need to be cleaned; I clean them and the error persists)
- the “interface” is a joke; it’s like something out of a computer club from 1972 with random meanings assigned to non-intuitive lights and buttons
- there is no press a button and go feature on the vacuum itself that works when it is on the charger—you have to either manually pick it up off the charger or else use the remote control (requires batteries—not included). Seriously? How hard would it be to have the “start” button work even when sitting on the charger?
This is a seriously inferior piece of junk. Buy a Roomba instead. It’s worth whatever amount extra you have to pay.
It’s like saying a bicycle is better than a motor vehicle because the bicycle is cheaper. Great. But try commuting 100 km per day each way on your bicycle in the winter. It doesn’t compare to the car because it simply cannot do the job properly, while the car can, no matter how much more it costs.
