I just opened the Bobi this morning, cause I couldn’t weait till Christmas! And omg what a beauty she is! So adorable and she moves around with more grace than a ballet dancer! I had a Roomba in the past and I can’t believe something so much better exists in the market and no one knows about it (at least I had never heard of this name or the company at all) You guys rock and deserve more recognition! I just started looking at your website and it sounds like a cool company! Glad you have a spot for people to share their thoughts, great idea..
Anyway,Bobi is charging and getting ready for some serious cleaning (although I let her go around for like 20 min before charging it, which I hope didn’t mess up the battery.. I was just too excited when I saw it, had to go for a test drive! She picked up so much of dog hair). Hope everything else about the company is as impressive as it has been so far.. you have quite a first impression to live up to!
We got the pet version of the Bob by using a Groupon because of the price, features and reviews. The Bob came to us quickly and looked very impressive right out of the box. I assembled it, charged it and was super excited to see it in action! Within the 90 seconds, we began to run into major problems. :( First of all, the Bob could not get over a very small wooden bump that separates the wood floor from the tile floor. The wood bump is only a few millimeters of a bump so I was shocked that it was unable to get over it. It tried a few times, and then just showed an “Error” code. I was willing to brush this problem off and moved it to the nursery. It seemed to move around the nursery well until it got to the carpet. It got stuck on the carpet and turned itself off after trying to figure out what was going on. I had the Bob turned on for about 2 minutes before I realized, this is NOT going to work! I refuse to have to remove my carpets and have to manually move it every time I need it to move to another room. I honestly do not know what all the hype is about. Do all these other people writing stellar reviews for the Bob just have seamless hard flooring throughout their entire house? If I’m missing something please let me know. But I quickly returned the Bob as it is CERTAINLY not worth the money (even at a discounted price) given its inability to clean a small room for more than a few minutes. THe purpose of the Bob is to program it to clean and let it do its thing with minimal intervention. I was frustrated just watching it try for 3 minutes. Highly disappointed with this product!
I have purchased both Bobsweep pethair and bobi. THe new sensors to allow bobi to more easily find the charging port was a huge improvement. Bobi is also super quiet and the lower profile is usually nicer{except now sometimes bobi gets stuck under the couch due to the low profile- not real often though). my biggest concern with both models remains though: both units hate the patterned rugs in my house(assume they are holes/ drop offs) therefore I have to cover their bottom sensors(by the way-painters tape works much better for this than the covers included). because I need to keep these sensors covered, I have to leave a laRge box in front of my steps to keep them from falling. I really wish that a virtual wall would be offered for these instances or updated sensors to identify these rugs as rugs instead of holes.
Overall, great product and does a great job cleaning.
I have had my BOB for a couple months and I can’t say enough good things about him….we have a house vac and BOB does a much better job than it does. I have 3 dogs and a couple of cats along with a parrot and a canary and BOB cleans up after all of them. I have always been hesitant about buying one but when I saw it on Groupon I decided to give it a try and I am not at all disappointed. Have taken it apart to clean filters with no problem. I don’t really have a good spot to put the docking station so usually have to take it to the location where it is but this is not a problem. Have to say again how glad we added BOB to our household.
Okay, so I’m pretty much in love. I’ve had 3 Roomba vacs and even their heavy duty Dirt Dog and when we installed ungauged slate, they one by one packed it in. They were way too sensitive to the floor variations, were always needing new parts and I was so unhappy with the whole idea that I abandoned the idea of robots for about 5 years. Along comes Bob and I decided to try again. His capacity is amazing (we have two large dogs and live on a lake) and I’ve been using him everyday. He’s easy to clean and as long as things continue the way they are going, I’ll be a Bobber for life.
